In my role as Global Field Staff with CBM, I focus on building and strengthening relationships with our partners in Bolivia and help to administrate CBM development projects together with my husband Tim. We also provide workshops and training activities to help mobilize churches and communities around a variety of identified issues.
Our major partners include the Bolivian Baptist Union, its development branch OBADES, and the Baptist Seminary. OBADES (Baptist Social Development Organization) projects serve vulnerable kids (those working, living in prison, and children of prostitutes), promotes local economic development, healthcare initiatives, food security, and responsible environmental practices. OBADES also strives to work through local churches to empower them to serve their own communities. Through each of their diverse programs, OBADES is committed to generating sustainable community development.
Tim and I primarily focus on supporting OBADES as they strengthen their current projects and explore opportunities to undertake new initiatives throughout the country. Working hands-on with these projects enables us to recognize and seize opportunities as they arise, making the work ever-changing and exciting.
We also collaborate with CBM staff in global discipleship. Here we are working to create connections between Canadian churches, Bolivian churches, and CBM projects in ways that empower and encourage everyone involved.
