People take to the streets on foot, bike, horse and stroller creating something of a fair like atmosphere with its own unique vibe. The streets that were yesterday traffic jammed and difficult to cross become filled with cart vendors, buskers, and lots of great food. It’s quite liberating to walk down the center of a main street, and hey, why not go for a swim in the fountain on a roundabout. Here are a few pictures of Cochabamba from last Sunday.
This past weekend we got to celebrate one of the best events in Cochabamba: Pedestrian Day. Since 2011, Bolivia has been holding bi-annual pedestrian days during which entire cities will shut down public transit and ban all vehicles from the road in an attempt to raise awareness about environment and promote community.
